Abstract
The purpose of this study is to analyze the impacts of family-friendly policies on the work performance of public employees, focusing on comparisons among groups such as gender and marital status. For this study, we utilized a questionnaire survey conducted by Korea Institute of Public Administration in 2019. In the study, we find three important research results. First, the use of child-care leave has a negative impact on the work performance of public employees, while the use of workplace nursery facilities has a positive impact on their work performance. Second, satisfaction levels of child-care leave, workplace nursery facilities, and flexible work arrangements are all positively associated with work performance of public employees, Finally, we find that there are significant differences in the influence of family-friendly policies on the work performance of public employees among groups. Specifically, among public employees using child-care leave and workplace nursery facilities, male public employees have a stronger impact on work performance than female employees.
