Abstract
Realistic media is a variety of technologies to provide users with a realistic and immersive experience. Among them, projection mapping is used in various fields such as media art, spatial design, events, and exhibitions because it creates three-dimensional effects by applying graphics or images according to the shape of space. In particular, the process of producing it is very difficult and complicated. Therefore, it is very difficult to implement mapping and research is needed to easily apply projection mapping of complex fixed polyhedrons. Projection mapping is to project images or light processed on the surface of an object to give intention to the object as intended by the producer. In other words, by expressing realistic scenes on a set object, the viewers feel a visual effect beyond time and space. The purpose of this study is to install a projector in a fixed form to produce a projection mapping image and easily extract the projection mapping coordinates of a polyhedron using edge drawing. There is a method of implementing projection mapping for fixed polyhedrons, but research on this is needed because it is very insufficient to be used in the practical field. The research method consists of eight steps, and after extracting the surface of the polyhedron as a vector by applying an edge drawing algorithm, an image coordinate is set based on this, and the area of the polyhedron projection mapping coordinates is intentionally set so that the producer can easily obtain the result. Through this study, it is expected that the polyhedral projection mapping method will be widely used in image production.
