Abstract

The modern high-rise buildings has been developed in terms of multi-functional and efficient way for its residents. These high-rise buildings based on high-density characteristics has been accelerated its vertical height in order to accommodate many residents and maximize their satisfaction. Each of these tall buildings are symbols of national dignity, technology levels, and commercial purpose, construction projects have been more competitive. Therefore, moving system for the residents are very important facility. In order to transfer many people in short time, vertical elevator tends to increase its speed not concerning physical and mental effects for the users. In this study, vertical-horizontal elevator system has been proposed by allowing horizontal movement inside or outside of building. Elevator waiting time can be reduced by 30~35% comparing with traditional vertical elevator for given specific building, and the efficiency of moving system has been have been remarkably improved upto 70 stories buildings.
