Abstract
As the importance of demand management and digitalization has emerged in the process of carbon neutrality in the energy sector, the necessity of collecting, analyzing, and utilizing energy data on which it is based and revitalizing related industries are receiving a lot of attention. However, discussion and implementation of projects, policies, and systems related to domestic energy data collection, transactions, and sharing methods are still in the early stages, and visible results are also insufficient. As the advanced meter infrastructure, which will play a key role in collecting and storing energy data in the future, will continue to expand in South Korea, conditions for utilizing the collected energy data and related markets should be created. Against this background, this study subdivided the relevant participants (energy suppliers, service providers, government aspect) to activate the use of domestic energy data and analyzed the relative importance of factors to be improved in each aspect. As a methodology for analysis, the Analytic Hierarchy Process, a type of multi-criteria decision making method, was used. As a result of the analysis, it was confirmed that all aspects of energy suppliers, service providers, and government needed to be improved, and among them, the government aspect was analyzed as the most important factor to be improved. Several domestic experts believe that the government’s legal system should be reorganized first, and the business feasibility of energy suppliers and service providers should be improved. Currently, the field of domestic energy data is in the stage of revising regulations or guidelines for energy data collection, trading, and sharing. Therefore, the results of this study can be used as a reference for policy and legislative stakeholders. In addition, it is judged that it can contribute to providing the direction of related business to existing and potential energy suppliers and service providers.
