Abstract
This study aims at identifying the motivating factors when SMEs consider to participate in SCM. Based on prior research on success factors of SCM activities, this study analyzes which factors motivate SMEs to participate in SCM activities using regression and factor analysis on the survey samples of the 63 SMEs. The result shows that SMEs are motivated by logistics, culture, operation and information management ability, however, they are not directly motivated by relationship between up and downstream firms, location and negotiation power.
