Abstract
The purpose of this study is to draw effectiveness by comparing school facilities checklist developed by Korean Educational Development Institute and school safety self inspection list developed by the Ministry of Education in 2015 to select schools which will be given CPTED support. School safety self inspection list developed by the Ministry of Education is characterized by simplification and quantification of evaluation items so that primary and secondary schools can be evaluated en bloc but there is a concern that there may be a difference between school safety self inspection list and school facilities checklist which is characterized by detailed evaluation.
This study compared school facilities checklist developed by Korean Educational Development Institute and school safety self inspection list developed by the Ministry of Education for CPTED demonstration schools. It was found that in school inside area, operation area and management area, all four schools are equal and in school outside area, there is a difference among four school but the difference is very insignificant which suggests that school safety self inspection list developed by the Ministry of Education is effective as much as school facilities checklist developed by Korean Educational Development Institute.
