국제선 조종사 영어능력 요구분석에 따른 특수목적영어 연구

This study is to propose directions for more practical aviation English education for flight crew in order to help Korean international pilots improve their skills to communicate with air traffic control centers smoothly with a focus on the analysis of learners' needs. For that purpose, the study analyzed pilots' needs to improve their skills in English for a specific purpose, which is essential to flight operation among international pilots. The analysis results that pilots basically did not have a high level of knowledge or understanding in the area of language education system. Successful communication does not just depend on individual pilots but also on active activities with all the concerned agencies in aviation including airlines. The findings of the present study propose the right directions for future education to promote smooth communication in an actual flight environment.
