Abstract
The purpose of this study is to produce a prototype of a mass-produced lacquered metal coaster that can be reproduced based on the traditional craft technique of metal lacquarware. For this study, the researcher conducted a theoretical consideration on the characteristics and applications of metal lacquarware and coasters, and then selected an octagonal plate as the research subject among metal lacquarware products produced in the past based on handicraft techniques. In addition, the process of how this octagonal plate was made was listed in order, introduced and analyzed. Through this, the hammer texture technique and welding technique, which were selected as processes to be improved to produce mass-produced products, were improved with etching and mold press techniques, and the production efficiency and price competitiveness of the product were improved by lacquering stainless steel materials. This study will serve as a reference for students and researchers based on craft technology when planning and making prototypes of mass-produced products, and it is hoped that more active follow-up research will be conducted through this.
