Abstract

N-screen service leads to the expansion of the smart terminal and has brought about the comprehensive change of media use behavior. This study focuses on the relationship between connected use based on use characteristics and the multi device. Web survey was conducted to investigate the impacts of wide range of service uses and user interface on perceived usability and perceived ease of use of N-screen service. The results show that real-time viewing hours of N-screen service have positive impact on cross-use, connected simultaneous use, and simple simultaneous use.
Although the fact that users use more devices for N screen does not always mean the more connected simultaneous use, but it found out as significant factor affecting cross-use and the simple simultaneous use. In addition, cross-use and connected simultaneous use have more positive impact on perceived usefulness. As users perceive user interface easier, they also feel perceived usability and perceived ease of use better.
This result implies that it is necessary to improve interoperability among terminals and develop differentiated service model utilizing real-time channel linked with complicated use characteristics and partnership with different fields of service providers to create synergy.
