Abstract
This letter explicitly expresses a suboptimal transmission probability (TxPr) for maximizing the performance of random access based wireless peer discovery, using the Lambert W function, when peers are distributed according to a homogeneous Poisson point process. The mathematical and numerical results demonstrate that the derived TxPr provides the performance close to the maximum performance.
