블록체인 기술의 활용 현황과 발전 방안에 관한 연구: 해외의 암호화폐 정책을 중심으로

Recently, various services using mobile devices have been developed and commercialized due to the improvement of network speed. In particular, the blockchain, along with robots, big data, AI, and IoT, has become a key technology leading the fourth industrial revolution. Now, the technology of the blockchain has expanded beyond financial sector into various fields such as logistics industry, medical industry, energy, automobile, music contents. However, in the financial sector, regulatory policies for cryptocurrency are still slightly different depending on countries. The United States basically sees cryptography as a substitute for the value of existing currencies, and Japan and Europe are also building their own regulatory framework. Although policies for cryptocurrency are different in general, many countries are interested in the blockchain technology and invest for its utilization. In this paper, we explore various application areas how blockchain technology are utilized. Also, we discuss policies of foreign countries for the blockchain technology and examine regulatory issues for blockchain technology in Korea. Crytocurrency is a representative technology of blockchain, so the development of the blockchain technology maybe uncertain if it does not develop. Therefore, it is important to investigate various policies for the cryptocurrency to develop the blockchain technology. Because the economic impact of blockchain technology is expected to be great, regulations need to be relaxed to develop the blockchain technology.
