Abstract
This study aims to analyze the perception of the public on industrial engineering with respect to the recent changes driven by the 4th Industrial Revolution. First, we collected posts and comments related to industrial engineering in online communities from 2019 to 2021. We found out keywords and areas of interest through keyword analysis based on the collected data and then clustered the main and sub groups through network-based clustering. Based on the main and sub groups, we studied sentiment polarity and trends during 2019 - 2021 through sentiment analysis and topic modeling. The results of this study can be used as a tool for setting the direction of industrial engineering education, such as curriculum composition and promotion strategies.
