Abstract

In recent years, people have been attention to health and walking. It brings to simulate supply and demand at domestic trekking course. In the competition among domestic Trekking brands, design has influenced the choice of people who want to go trekking. Among the importance for the design, sign system design have a direct effect on the trekker. Needs for the research, we reviewed literature and studied the sign system of domestic trekking course. There are Jeju 'Olle Trail', Jeollanam-do 'The Beautiful Pilgrimage Route' and Jeollabuk-do 'Beosungil'. This study reveal symbols how has been used and how be created to analyse case study of other domestic sign system design. Through this, The trek sign system is distinguished from the other public sign facilities in use of symbol image, and could be organized effects of the using symbol. The effect was that helping to making attachment of tracking course, and that enforcing cognitive effect and identity from using symbols consistently. Based on the above studies, in the sign system design of treckking course 'Soritgil‘ which will be built in Usanri, Cheoungji, Chungcheongbuk-do, representative symbol image of Soritgil was designed and become the logical basis of sign formation. From this studies, new approach for trekking course sign design was suggested. Previous approaches emphasized navigation system. This semiotic method is new attempt. New design attempts should be continued in the future. And logical studies for new design attempts should be researched.
