Abstract

The purpose of this study is to provide an answer for two research questions such that firstly, there is an difference in business model elements between a manufacturing oriented company and a service oriented company, secondly, if difference exists, how business model elements for a service oriented company should be described? To deal with it, this study describes the current trends and methods in business model research and then explain 9 elements in business model canvas. Then, this study identifies the distinguished elements blocs of business model for service company and presents business model framework for a service oriented company. The methodology of this study are literature analysis and synthesis. The main results of this study shows that the business model elements for a service oriented company should be different from incumbent business model elements and that it should focused more on the customer value creation and the process of service delivery.
