Abstract

Due to the recent Fourth Industrial Revolution, digital and smart technologies are rapidly being applied to our economy. This study is aimed at easily applying digital devices and smart technologies related to the 4th Industrial Revolution not only to large companies but also to general small business owners. Due to COVID-19, more consumers want non-face-to-face services, and the industry also needs to reduce labor costs, so the use of smart technologies such as unmanned stores, kiosks, serving robots, and smart orders has increased. Smart technology is a technology that makes life convenient, but middle-aged people are still not familiar with smart technology, making it difficult to use it. This study investigated cases of successful introduction of smart technology, and analyzed necessary smart technology by collecting data related to small businesses from 2017 to 2022 on cases of using smart technologies overseas and in Korea, news, and statistical datas. In addition, research results on current trends, achievements, and barriers to introduction related to the application of smart technology are comprehensively summarized.
