Abstract
This study was to explain the influence of learners`` psychological characteristics on learning outcomes within social network learning environment, with the spirit of collaboration and openness. Personality, self-regulated learning ability, and epistemological beliefs were considered as psychological characteristics; motivation, satisfaction on social network learning environment, and academic achievement were included as learning outcomes. Total 78 college students participated in this study, with experiencing various activities on Facebook for one semester. The results of this study suggested that the extraversion and openness tended to influence positively on the level of satisfaction for social network learning environment. The cognitive regulation and behavioral regulation would positively impact on academic achievement. Among the 5 factors of epistemological beliefs, the tendency of innate learning and quick learning showed the negative influence on the satisfaction for social network learning environment. Based on the results of this study, it could advise that the instructors should more focus on learners psychological characteristics when they consider the use of social network learning environment.
