Abstract

Research Background-Purpose, As sustainability expanded to a comprehensive concept of balanced development in the social, environmental, industrial, and economic sectors, the Framework Act on Sustainable Development was re-established in 2022, and the implementation of indicators and performance evaluation are important every two years. For this reason, related systems such as practical policies, performance management, and analysis and evaluation are being reorganized and developed to improve the quality of life and the possibility for future generations. This study presented an evaluation model that can analyze sustainability in terms of creating a universal environment and crime prevention social safety facilities for the sustainability of smart poles, which have been expanding into infrastructure for smart cities since 2020. Research Method, Through prior research, literature, and related data, the types of smart poles are reclassified according to the application environment and acceptance function from the perspective of the public and the ‘Reusability and Maintenanceability’ of sustainability in terms of industry and economy, It was conceptualized as ‘Reliability and Functional Scalability’ in terms of science and technology, ‘Safety and Interactivity’ in terms of society and culture, and ‘Continuity and Intuitiveness’ in terms of public and environmental. Since then, guidelines presented by domestic and foreign evaluation systems, which are being developed around sustainability, have been clustered, and evaluation elements and items have been organized through feasibility verification with FGI, experts related to universal design and crime prevention.
Research Analysis and Results, The evaluation contents were established by operationally defining evaluation factors and items centered on the case of road-type smart poles in Dongjak-gu, Seoul, which are being expanded and built on signal and street and security pillars, and statistical analysis was conducted through a survey. As a result of the analysis, Safety and Maintenanceability were the main evaluation factors, and Functional Scalability, Continuity, Safety, Intuitiveness, Maintenanceability, Reusability, Reliability, and Interactivity were classified as common factors and named as application environment and acceptance functions. After that, in consideration of the independence and complementarity between the evaluation factors, it was schematized into a relational network evaluation model suitable for the sustainability analysis of smart poles. Conclusion, This study was intended to present an evaluation model that can analyze the sustainability of smart poles and related infrastructures formed as tangible and intangible platforms for the efficiency of integration, management, and operation, and could be used for follow-up studies.
