Abstract

The purpose of this study is to identify significant differences in muscle activity of rectus femoris, vastus medialis, vastus laterails depending on the change in the height of the heel during squat. The subjects of the study randomly 10 male students in their 20s attending S University in N-gu, Seoul, which has no limits to perform squats. For the measurement of the study, this study compared the maximum potential using the Telemyo 2400T system(Noraxon.USA). The progress of the study was performed randomly at three heights, 0cm, 3cm and 5cm, suppriting the original plate, and compared and analyzed the measurement of the muscle activity of the rectus femoris, vastus medialis, vastus laterails. The results of the study showed that first, the relative value of the rectus femoris was equal at all of the three heights. Second, the vastus lateralis showed 38% at 0cm, 36% at 3cm and 37% at 5cm. Third, the vastus medialis showed 34% at 0cm, 35% at 3cm and 5cm. As a result, there were no statistically significant differences in all heights, and it is believed that increasing the height of the heel during squats is less correlated with increasing muscle activity.
