Abstract

Mobile phones in people's lives have been an indispensable commodity as advances in information and communication technology. However, the Silver generation generally is not familiar with the advanced technology compared to the young generation. Small multimedia device such as mobile phones or PMP is difficult to deal with. The ICT sector had conducted a survey to find out the factors contributed. The relationship between intent use and the attitude of using it. The characteristic of Silver Generation complete a questionnaire based on previous studies conducting factor analysis. There are 11 factors derived. The target is Silver generation living in Seoul who is using smartphones. A survey was conducted last November 20-30, 2011. A total of 130 people responded and 115 questionnaires were collected as was used to add to the final analysis except for 15 poor responses.
The result was summarized into two categories. First, the relationship and character of Silver generation to smartphone and the intensity of their usage. When they conducted the survey the following are considered: Pride and spirit of challenge, extroverted. Second, the attitude of using smartphone. In attitude unintentionally added to spirit of challenge, extroverted unlike Intent. This is partly checking awareness about smartphones. In the future, Silver Generation in the development of applications that reflect these needs would be preferable.
