Abstract
Due to the development of technology and the influx of new media, the analog picture book is being made into the experimental form attempting different transformations based on the property of matter. The systematic study on the analog interactive element that complements the limit of the analog picture book and provides readers with the new elements they did not experience in the existing picture book is required.
5 Representative analog picture books to which the interactive element was applied were selected by referring to the precedent study and the good picture book choice standard, and the expression method and the role of interactive elements of each case were analyzed from the visual and tactile aspects based on Rudolph Steiner’s sense theory.
As a result of study, it was possible to discover various expression ways of interactive elements and each element was not utilized separately but fused with each other to express the subject of the picture book significantly and deliver the writer’s message. It was confirmed that the role of interactive elements in the analog picture book was to lead the story as an entity of the picture book or complement the text and picture as a part of picture book for readers to be engrossed in the story and read the book actively.
It is expected that this study will be used as a basic study in making the analog picture book by means of the interactive element analyzed through the study.
