Abstract

The various local government propel the construction work for restoring the Anseong river caused by with increase of income level and the craving becomes larger about the ecology and the interest is becoming larger about the ecological rivers as the urban amenity. Anseong river which puts across GyeongGi-Do Anseong city is not the exception. Thus, this study attempts to apply contingent valuation method to estimating the economic benefits from restoration of ecological river in downtown. This paper uses one and one half bounded dichotomous choice model to avoid possible inefficiency of single bounded dichotomous choice model and the potential response bias of double bounded dichotomous choice model respectively. The 200 houses in Anseong city which are extracted with random interview leads in the object and accomplishes an investigation and The answer back people accommodate the conditional the deputy market well. The research results indicate that the monthly Willingness to pay(WTP) for the construction work for restoring the Anseong river to a ecological river range from 1,282 won to 1,889 won per household. In the case of Anseong city as a whole, the yearly WTP for restoring the Anseong river to ecological river is from 0.986 to 1.452 billion won. This information could be applied with fundamental information which is important for evaluates the economical efficiency of the restoration of ecological rivers.
