Abstract
The issue of cultural competition among the local governments is to establish and utilize which cultural image based on the intrinsic identity of the region.
Yanggu White Porcelain Museum is a cultural space which well shows history and culture of Yanggu-gun as the major producer of white clay that had been used for royal porcelain during the 500 years of Joseon Dynasty.
Here, this research aimed at producing educational program combined with storytelling to be helpful for PR for local government along with PR for the local government.
As the research method, first, this research established theoretical consideration and concept of the museum through literature research, internet search, and expert interview. Second. this research developed a story by utilizing the history of white porcelain, the resource of the museum and the region. Third, this research analyzed the type through the cases of various experience education programs of other porcelain museums in Korea. Fourth, this research suggested educational program model, teaching learning guide, and activity model to be practiced for white porcelain museum class through the empathic storytelling research based on Yanggu white porcelain.
The researcher expects the storytelling included with regional history through the convergence experience education program of Yanggu White Porcelain Museum suggested in this research could take a great role in comprehension of museum exhibits and formation of the audience’s bond of sympathy.
Particularly, the researcher expects that Yi, seonggye’s white porcelain prayer of wish-fulfillment would bring motivation and voluntary participation of the audience as the motif of storytelling. Also, PR for educational program of Yanggu White Porcelain Museum would enhance identity of the region and establish positive image by being connected with regional marketing effect. Convergence experience education combined with storytelling would be a differentiated educational strategy of white porcelain museum from other region and other museums.
Based on this, the researcher considers, white porcelain museum would be a global museum that leads the regional culture if it is developed with storytelling by continuously discovering regional tangible, intangible cultural assets that represent identity of Yanggu.
