Abstract
The purpose of this study is to present desirable stages of welfare administration, and ways to improve current state through information and technology. In order to diagnosis the current stage and to suggest the future direction of welfare service administration, public officials who deal with welfare affairs in the local governments are interviewed. Findings of this study are as follows. First, the current phase of public welfare administration is between second and third stage in the five-phased IT welfare administration model we developed in this study. Second, in order to reach the final stage which is “personalized service delivery stage” through the third and fourth step, service integration among public welfare agencies, one-stop service delivery via on-line, individually customized welfare service and case management system, and linkage with private welfare institute are all necessary.
