Abstract

Dating back to ancient times, the fact that the same or similar types of symbolic images had been usedcan be found in all around the world. This fact reflects that human beings possess the common form ofemotion. Geometrical abstract graphics of the talisman include a number of archetype images whichrepresent the unconscious human being's universal characters. Even today these archetype images of thetalisman emit the symbolic meanings which can be shared in common. This research classify the archetypeimages of the talisman into (1) archetype images as the source of life, (2) archetype images as symbol ofthe center, (3) 卍and 卐 and (4) geometric primitive signs. And also it includes the examination of themeanings of the archetype images of the talisman as formative language. The follow-up study of thisresearch plans to classify the symbolic meanings and signification of the talisman more thoroughly in aholistic view.
