Abstract
With the fourth industrial revolution, robots and the keywords of artificial intelligence have emerged as an issue, and wearable robots, which are included in industrial robots and cooperative robots, are also drawing much attention. In addition, wearable robots are not only able to cooperate with humans in industrial sites, but also used for daily life assistance and rehabilitation purposes in aging societies, approaching humans in various fields. However, with the market for wearable robots expanding, there is a lack of clear definition of wearable robots or prior research on classification systems. In this study, starting with an understanding of wearable terminology, we define wearable robots and wearable robot development processes through prior research, domestic and international case analysis, and expert interviews, and derive additional classification criteria to establish a classification system for wearable robot design development.
