Abstract
Recently, the number of users who watch TV news/current affairs content through YouTube rather than TV is increasing. This study examines the factors influencing the intention to continue using YouTube for TV news/current affairs content and the intention to watch the content on TV, focusing on the technology acceptance model. To this end, a survey was conducted targeting YouTube news/current affairs content users. As a result, the motives for using YouTube news/current affairs content were classified into instrumental, social, and playful motives, and the motives for use were more influenced by perceived usefulness such as reliability, diversity, and realism than perceived ease of use and interaction among users. The effect was found to be relatively large. In addition, both perceived ease and usefulness had a significant effect on the intention to continue using news/current events, and the intention to continue using had an effect on the intention to watch news/current events on TV. Through this study, it was confirmed that the use of TV and YouTube are complementary to each other in viewing news/current affairs content.
