Abstract

By the end of the 20th century, information professionals were predicting that libraries as physicalbuildings, especially public libraries, would gradually disappear because of the spread of Internet penetration andusage and the increasingly electronic and qualitative and quantitative information. In other countries, however,the new digital information medium and the traditional print information media are attractively combined tomaintain cultural sustainability. Another type of information inequality I am preparing for the problem. This studyanalyzed the keywords of their library planning through analyzing strategic plans of overseas advanced libraries.
Common keywords were digital and technology, accessibility, social space, communication, community, culture,education, entertainment and rest. The purpose of this study is to investigate the characteristics of the spatialstructure of Korean libraries and the universality of the strategy plans of foreign advanced libraries. The digitalubiquitousization of the library, the spatialization of social communication functioning as a place of everydayliving space, and finally the active spatialization of the reading room in response to the change of the digital -based learning type.
