Abstract
The primary purpose of this study was to explore the relationship between involvement and leisure satisfaction for volunteers.
The sample consisted of 198 volunteers. Data were collected from volunteers for selected 5 churches by using the convenience sampling technique in Seoul, Korea. Factor analyses for involvement and leisure satisfaction revealed similar factor structures to those reported in previous sport and leisure research. Findings indicated that age was significantly related to involvement and leisure satisfaction. It was found that frequency of participation was significantly related to physical, psychological, and social subcomponents of leisure satisfaction. Results indicated that level of involvement is related to leisure satisfaction. The findings from multiple regression support the conclusion that all subcomponents of involvement are predictive of psychological and social subcomponents of leisure satisfaction. The current study identified the relationship between involvement and leisure satisfaction for volunteers from a multidimensional perspective for the first time at least in Korea. It can be expected to provide theoretical framework in managing volunteers.
