Abstract

The tachometer of urban railway vehicles is an important device that performs the functions of speed determination, direction determination, and overspeed protection. When it breaks down, it causes passengers to get off and delays the main line due to command-based operation. This paper developed a CBM-based tachometer information collection device to reduce tachometer failures and attempted to reduce failures on the main line by utilizing it. There were 2-3 failures each year that caused passengers to get off due to tachometer failures, but this number was reduced to 0 by performing predictive maintenance using this information collection device. Based on the results of this study, first, the incorporation of the tachometer information collection function when introducing new Electric Multiple Unit, second, the reestablishment of the analog signal processing criteria that recognize failures, third, the introduction of a TCBM maintenance system that combines TBM and CBM, and fourth, the production and utilization of a tachometer information collection device for existing urban railway vehicles are suggested. With reference to this paper, we hope that by reflecting various analog signal information collection devices in the design when introducing new EMU and analyzing and utilizing them on a regular basis, we can contribute to improving the efficiency of EMU maintenance and reducing costs through predictive maintenance using the CBM technique.
