Abstract
Although the advancing front method is powerful and efficient in generating unstructured meshes consisting of tetrahedra, it frequently encounters cases where the front cannot proceed because of unsuitable configurations of the space to be meshed. In this study, a simple algorithm to repair a space to be meshed is established and validated by generating unstructured meshes for both simple and complex geometries. The repairing process of the established method is based on the distance between two frontal edges, and it can be efficiently employed for dynamic mesh generation for computational fluid dynamics. Furthermore, the developed method can yield good-quality unstructured meshes in terms of skewness.
