Abstract
When government establishes the ecological sports park on riverside or unoccupied ground in each village, residents can use the facilities under the improved scenery and air without any cost. Also, this can promote friendship
among the residents and the efficiency of using the public land. The willingness to pay for establishing the ecological sports park is deduced by the way of contingent valuation method. This research employed one and
one-half bound dichotomous choice model to avoid the inefficiency and the potential response bias of single bound dichotomous choice model and double bound dichotomous choice model respectively. To deal with the zero responses, we applied the spike model. The research results indicate that the WTP for the establishment of ecological sports park is 2,949 Korean Won
per household per year. This paper contributes to policy-makers with useful methodological framework and quantitative information in the decision-making process related to determine the optimum level of investment to increase the quality of life for a local residents and analyze the cost-benefit as benefit data for policy relevant to stablishing the park equipment.
