Abstract

Augmented reality is a view of physical substance augmented with a virtual object, and it brings a new paradigm that increases efficiency as utilized in diverse industries and enables mutual communication. This study aims to propose the method of utilizing augmented reality on ceramic products through theoretical and case studies.
For the methodology, the research studied the definition and technical features of augmented reality and examined the technical trend through cases applied with augmented reality in diverse industries. Furthermore, the development of such scientific technology is combined with the field of art and the trend of evolution into diverse forms is examined, and application cases are studied. As a method of utilizing the augmented reality of ceramic products, the study proposed a method that is diversely applicable in a real life by utilizing cases where augmented reality is applied to the ceramic products through the changes and trends of ceramic industry as basic data.
The introduction of augmented reality of ceramic products through the study can effectively deliver the practical information by proposing diverse uses and presentation methods of the products. It also enables mutual communication by inducing the user to directly experience the information available or to participate in the production. Besides, the aesthetic impression of ceramic products can be actively delivered and can increase the understanding and interest through showing the various transformation procedures of patterns or forms on the ceramic. Such method proposes the possibility of development as a higher value-added business by producing a result that can increase the figurative value of ceramics and the value of product.
