Abstract
Recently, most countries show more interest in safety for terrorism, fire and natural disasters around the world. as Korean high-speed railroad stations become more urbanized with more transfer centers, convenient facilities and commercial facilities, they become much larger-scaled and more complex. this study aims to propose a quantitative measurement technique for emergency evacuation and safety for various kinds of terrorism and fire, which can measure pedestrians’ ordinary walking patterns in the concourse with most pedestrian volume out of all the spaces in the railroad station, predict pedestrians’ evacuation traffic lines when a sudden disaster breaks out and analyze gait coefficient, occupant density and evacuation behavior time.
