Abstract
In recent railway construction projects, digital inspection has been conducted intermittently. However, it has not achieved sufficient accuracy or efficiency. This study examined the optimal 3D scanning method using DroneLiDAR and Drone-Camera. Two terrain models with different curvature and elevation differences were established, and the accuracy of the 3D models was analyzed through simulation. Afterwards, the accuracy of the 3D model was verified by performing scanning using two methods in an actual field. Analysis results, flight altitude and speed of Drone-LiDAR and image overlap of Drone-Camera have the greatest impact on 3D model quality. The results of this study can provide important criteria for sensor selection and flight planning when constructing 3D model-based digital data for railway construction projects.
