Abstract

This research emphasizes the application of digital twin technology and information visualization methods to improve user engagement for sustained utilization of body management mobile applications within the healthcare sector. As global attention towards healthcare intensifies, there's an upsurge in research and development in this field. Notwithstanding the growing popularity of mobile healthcare applications, particularly those centered on body management, they face difficulties in ensuring continued usage due to issues relating to content deficiency and usability. Taking these prior studies into account, we embarked on user surveys and in-depth interviews with a view to enhancing the user experience associated with the report content of current body management mobile apps. The investigations revealed that the users who currently use healthcare apps for body image management have found that the amount of information provided is insufficient compared to the amount of data entry required, and the lack of feedback in current body image management apps has negatively impacted their experience. We concluded that the integration of digital twin technology using personal life logging data into body management mobile apps could prove instrumental in providing enriched information to users. This approach allows for individualized feedback and the possibility of visually predicting future body shapes using real-time data analysis. The cases proposed as part of this research could serve as a valuable resource for researchers looking to enhance the reporting capabilities of body management apps and those considering the integration of digital twin technology. Therefore, this research serves as a cornerstone, setting the groundwork for future discussions and research endeavors aimed at augmenting user engagement, improving the overall experience, and fostering a more interactive and comprehensive environment in the realm of mobile health applications, ultimately leading to the development of more advanced and personalized needs of the users in the digital age.
