Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze the electric energy consumption (EEC) of office buildings in Teheranro according to the gross floor area and orientation to EEC characteristics as per the elevation type. The research method is as follows: 1) Classifying the types of elevation of office buildings located in Teheran-ro 2) Analyzing a total of 63 office buildings, excluding ones that are not suitable for analysis 3) Comparison of the annual average EEC according to elevation type 4) The EEC was compared according to the gross floor area and orientation of the office building, deriving the correlation between the elevation type and EEC. The results of this study are as follows: First, the hybrid elevation exhibits the largest decrease. Second, the EEC according to the gross floor area is small in the order of medium, small, and large scale. Third, regarding the elevation type by orientation, the south-facing office buildings have less EEC than the north-facing buildings, and among the elevation types, the north-facing EEC and the south-facing EEC of the curtain wall are approximately 32% different. The limitation of this study is that it focuses on the elevation type, including the window to wall ratio, which can affect EEC in the future.
