Abstract

This study aimed to examine the structural relationship between participation motivations and selection attributes among students of the College of Continuing Education. The study subjects were 243 students who registered in the College of Continuing Education of a university in Seoul. The results are as follows. First, selection attributes which have meaningful effects on goal-oriented participation motivation are suitability, quality of education, followed by reputation of the university. Second, selection attributes which meaningfully affect activity-oriented participation motivation were only suitability and quality of education. Third, only suitability and the reputation of the university meaningfully affect learning-oriented motivation. The results of this study suggest different selection attributes affect students’ participation motivations in a different structural way. These different attributes and their structural relationship can be utili z ed for the promotion of the College of Continuing Education.
