Abstract

The goal of this research is to diagnose the curriculum of ceramic education at Korean universities through the phenomenon of conditions and culture in ceramic realm. To approach such issues it is need to incorporate practical issues on field. For this reason, this research adopted a research method devised in the tradition of Grounded Theory. In other words, this study focused on inputs from colleagues who are familiar with the university scene and who can extract practical questions and answers that can predict future-oriented curriculum model for ceramic education at Korea’s universities and to devise substantive plans. There are analysis of ceramic education at Korean universities. First, identity of ceramic education at Korean universities is not clear, but traditional ceramic culture is most important factor in ceramic education. Second, the most urgent problem is uniformed education with subject-focused curriculum. Third, result of ceramic education depend on professor's effort and sacrifice. These phenomenons of ceramic education at Korean universities is not evaluste quality of education.We need to reconceptualize curriculum and prepare differntiated educational contents. So next research will be solve the these problems and propose the curriculum of ceramic education at Korean universities based on more qualitative education.
