Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to discuss the social problems and differences that these two films are reproducing by comparing , which has also been successful in terms of box office success, with the Chinese remake . Crime movies deal with a narratives centered on criminals, law enforcement, and victims of crimes. Accordingly, by analyzing the narratives and characters (evil, detective, and father) representations, the universality and specificity of Korean and Chinese crime films were confirmed. These films raised social contradictions through the representation of "public enemy" villains. In addition, it was found that criminal films enhance their fundamental problems by phenomenally reproducing the ideals and realities of the legal order on which modern society is based.
