It is the objective order of this world that there are incomprehensible deaths and we can not see them with all our griefs. That is because there is no death, there is no life. (1) and (2) reveal the human mind denying the world order. It, however, is just a wish that it can not last long. gaksi met her bridegroom two or three times, but he disappear instantly. In the final analysis she could meet by her death. This epic shows us that how sorrowful and desperate the human’s wish is even though human can not overcome death. It is the representation of the world and human mind. It enable us to objectify and accept death, the most important problem of human existence, and our mind which always resist against the death.
The bearer of this epic expanded this kind of prototypicality to social meaning absorbing historic experiences. <Dorangseonbi and Chungjeonggaksi> seems to have the trace of the matriarchal society by stressing the role of the maternal uncle. It shows us the process of transition from maternal to patriarchal society by the tragedy the maternal uncle caused.
It speaks out to us the unilateral sacrifice and oppression imposed on women through our history. This epic is one of the masterpiece of our Minjung-traditional literature representing and searching the prototypicality and historicity of our country.
