Abstract
This study discusses ‘(non)humanism’ and agency that can be seen in the context of ‘posthumanism’ through the example of exhibition curating and seeks to understand what ‘subjectivity’ means. The interest in posthumanism appeared in the movement to break away from anthropocentrism and avoid dualistic thinking. In the meantime, we have experienced the entry of the thinking of ‘New Materialism’, represented by ‘Actor-Network Theory’ of Bruno Latour(1947-2022). Since not only humans but also nonhumans have the same agency as humans, humans and nonhumans have a symmetrical composition. On the extension of this reasoning, we now need a broader thought on (non)humans, not on the opposite side of humans. In order to think about (non)humans who are not humans and nonhumans, we first need to pay attention to the perspective of ‘non’ in the word ‘nonhumans’ that we have made others. This study aims to analyze and organize this thought through curatorial research and works of art. And this analysis of works has the goal of reminding us of the subjectivity of nonhumans revealed in the works being experimented with through contemporary art and presenting how the agency created by these nonhuman entities is realized. And the significance of the study that can be had through this is to imagine the post(non)human realm by discussing the postnonhuman imaginable through the context of posthumanism.
