Abstract
Purpose : This work was performed to compare visual perception of the 2.5D and 3D motion pictures.
Methods : We measured brain wave intensities of ten subjects watching the 2D, 2.5D, and 3D motion pictures by the EEG. Time-averaged relative intensities were calculated and compared at γ- and α-frequency bands.
Results : Compared to the EEG intensity of 2D motion pictures, those of both 3D and 2.5D increased at γ-frequency band. However, the EEG intensity of 2.5D decreased at α-frequency band while that of 3D remained as unchanged.
Conclusions : This result implies that visual perception of the 2.5D motion pictures in brain is not just same to that of 3D motion pictures.
