Abstract

Background: As the discussion of the Forth Industrial Revolution spreads, exhibition contents are changing in existing exhibition spaces including museums and art galleries. While the possibility of active application and expansion of technology is raised, some are concerned about the phenomenon that technology is inverted for a purpose and, the content to which technology is applied is simply consumed as a spectacle. Therefore, the purpose of the research is to propose the direction of technology-based Interaction exhibition content by classifying types and analyzing experience elements through the case of exhibition content to which the Forth Industrial Revolution technology is applied. Methods: The research identifies the characteristics of technologies and exhibition contents currently applied in offline experiential exhibitions based on the technology of the 4th Industrial Revolution through literature research and previous research. In addition, it also conducts a cases study of technology-based offline experiential exhibition content through an analysis framework based on experience element reconstruction theory. The basic direction of Interaction exhibition content based on the technology of the Forth Industrial Revolution is proposed through the analysis of experience elements derived from case studies and the types of exhibition contents. Result: Among the experience factors, the relationship factor was found to be the lowest and its elements need to be supplemented. Therefore, through ‘the interaction with audiences' and the experience elements, one of the exhibition content type groups, attempted to supplement together with the participation characteristics. Conclusion: On the basis of the Forth Industrial Revolution technology, the research derived elements to be supplemented in the future in terms of interaction experience factors with visitors through case analysis of offline experience exhibition contents. In view of what has been mentioned before, three directions for exhibition content based on the technology of the Forth Industrial Revolution were proposed, and implications for the necessity of diversifying exhibition content were derived. Based on this basic study, a follow-up study on the Forth Industrial Revolution technology-based exhibition content planning methodology that can more diversely create elements of experience and exhibition experience would be conducted.
