A CAN BUS based embedded communication platform model for telematics terminal in a vehicle

Abstract

Intelligent vehicle & automobile information system is a system that is a key point in construction of ITS(Intelligent Transport System) which has been increased interest in 21th century traffic system. Recently, a new H/W that integrates multiple functions of conventional navigation, DMB(Digital Multimedia Broadcasting) and etc has been released. This paper described both the data acquisition(DAQ) and data management(such as active database) of a vehicle and the transportation using the CAN(Controller Area Network) BUS. Furthermore, we suggested embedded communications platform model that implemented a DAQ for telematics terminal to integrate those module and certified the practical availability and utility of the proposed communication module.
