Abstract
Cyber-physical production systems (CPPS) is an essential and core technology of smart manufacturing. For the successful implementation of CPPS, a systematic approach for the collection, processing, and application of the manufacturing data is required. In this paper, an algorithm-based systematic approach that can generate a cyber model from the real-time data of a manufacturing site was proposed for this purpose. An algorithm that performs the "mapping," "scaling," and "calibrating" of MTConnect-based manufacturing data into the machine, process, and factory levels was developed, and its application to a manufacture engineering task such as throughput analysis was described through a case study.
