Abstract

Cipe Pineles is the first woman admitted to the New York Art Directors Club. It is breaking the code of the male dominated professional design societies across the country. She used graphic elements to move readers' eyes around pages, and the effects of attractive design influences modern design for both computer based and print media.
In this study, Cipe Pineles' designs are reviewed by analyzing interactive design approaches in editorial design. This research is to recognize the importances of fundamental design elements of editorial design.
According to the researched information about Cipe Pineles, understanding the different approaches based on promotional and educational design will help to communicate with readers more interactively.
For the scope of this research, Cipe Pineles' editorial design for magazines and annual books are chosen. The methodology of this study is for looking closer to get some ideas about the current design aspects in editorial design by design elements.
The results of this study will suggest new interactive approaches to editorial design. The analyzed cases will help to review Cipe Pineles' editorial design.
