A study on the method of optimal transfer schedule at urban railway

Abstract

A transfer within the route is in operation at 169 stations of the urban railway of the Seoul metropolitan area. For transfer convenience, transfer connection should be available at the last train time zone and it is necessary to minimize the transfer waiting time during other time zone. However, there are no principles and standards in the selection of each individual route. This study aims to suggest choice model from minimizing the transfer waiting time during the first train and off-peak hours, being available at the last train zone and maximizing transfer value based on the one way transfer There is possible to expect applicable fundamental study covering whole routes in metropolitan area through trial application for major stations.
