Abstract

In this study, the improvement in the heat exchange efficiency was investigated using a plasma coil care system that was installed between the heat exchanger and the axial flow fan of a centralized cooling system in a real building for approximately one year. The results showed that the sensible and latent heats of the building was reduced by approximately 55% and 41%, respectively, and the cooling water energy was decreased by approximately 33% during the late stage than during the early stage of plasma operation. The plasma coil care system could clean the aged coil surface of the air conditioner and decrease the heat exchanger energy stably approximately 3 months after it was installed.
