Abstract

The objective of this work is to propose an on-line system for estimating the temperature dependent thermophysical properties of fluid without duct impairments. Amongst the many advantages of inverse methods, the in-situ application is attractive. The proposed inverse method considers the thermal conductivity and the volumetric heat capacity of fluid flowing in a circular duct. An on-line temperature measurement system with the direct heating method is postulated. The corresponding computer software for inversely estimating the thermophysical properties using the data transmitted from the measurement system is developed. The parameterized form is used for rapid and stable estimation. The method is verified for virtual fluids with simulated measurement data.
