Abstract

This paper presents a zero-voltage-switching (ZVS) synchronous buck converter. It utilizes an auxiliary circuit to provide ZVS of the power switches. The reverse recovery problem of the anti-parallel body diode of the synchronous switch is solved due to ZVS characteristic. Moreover, it provides a ripple-free filter inductor current. The auxiliary circuit cancels out the current ripple. Then, the output filter stage can be simplified. Theoretical analysis of the proposed buck converter is provided and the experimental results obtained on 110W prototype are discussed.
